6 things you don't know until you're a bride....

Unless you are a die hard fan of everything wedding like all of us here at elite event planning, there are some random facts about wedding planning that you might not have realized until you were planning your own wedding.  How many of these must knows did you know while planning and which ones did you add to your list?

bouquet toss 
Did you know that when you throw your bouquet at your wedding reception, you don't actually throw the very expensive painstakingly designed arrangement that you carried down the aisle.   You toss a much cheaper version; it's often a complimentary item from the florist, created from extra stems.

destination weddings
did you know that if you are having a destination affair in Mexico, the Dominican republic of china or the beautiful beaches of Cancun,  there is a good chance that you will have to go to the court house and get married before you leave so that your marriage is legal in the united states.  .

the dress
did you know that  If you order your wedding dress between the months of November and January, you'll probably have to wait longer than if you order one between April and October. regardless of the venue you order from as most of the more popular stores order from a hand full of stores.  This is due to the Chinese New Year; the queues at the factories get backed-up because workers go on holiday for several weeks.

did you know there is no need to
have a panic attack for entrusting your brand new diamond and platinum rings in the hands of your nephew who breaks or looses his glasses, hat and or coat every couple of days.  The ring bearer is actually carrying candy or faux rings in the box or ties to the ribbons of the pillow.

wedding money
did you know your guest will take every opportunity to express their happiness for you and your spouse on your special day.  So addressing your wedding checks mr. and mrs. (your new last name) is part of the show.  it is a great feeling to notice that they took the time to acknowledge your union.  on a less romantic note,  which bank do you use to deposit? his or hers?  unfortunately, your bank sees this as a third party check.  Fortunately, with a little planning ahead, your bank may make an exception if you open a new account in both names under your new last name using your marriage license a few days before the big day.  This will save a lot of financial headache in your newlywed lives.

did you know that the beautiful wedding cake you see at the reception not only is a visual masterpiece but is only has two tiers?  Ever wonder how this small but fabulous cake is supposed to feed 100 people?  It doesn't.  There is a sheet cake or two in the kitchen that is cut and brought out after the official cake cutting so that the wedding party and immediate family can have the bottom layer and the bride and groom can take the top layer for traditional eating one year later.
