Any true partier would love a good fancy theme party, and this New Year’s Eve, bring the celebration from the bars and clubs to the comfort of your own home. Here are some recommendations tips for this holiday that are to provide the silliest, most extravagant and lavishly elegant themed parties, all for your entertainment!  BLACK & WHITE MASQUERADE Throw an exciting Mardi Gras themed New Year’s Eve party you just can’t miss! Dress up in fancy Masquerade black tie and prepare yourself to bring in 2014 New Orleans style! This classy theme will have your guests dressed to the nines as you countdown to twelve. You can even request your guests to wear black and white to the party to go with the theme. FOR THE TABLES: Black and white linens and mismatched black and white plates and cups. For the centerpiece use a hurricane vase and make a bouquet with long black and white feathers. You could also use flowers but I think the feathers go so well with the black and white theme. FOR THE FOOD: Serve up a fancy three course meal if budget allows. Make guests feel that they are in one of the finest restaurants. Offer champagne and caviar. FOR THE CAKE: A black and white dark chocolate cake with caramel buttercream filling will have guests melting and the visual treat will look great in pictures. FOR PARTY FAVORS: Give the guests fun black and white feather crowns to wear or black and white masks would also look great for more of a masquerade theme. You can also give them a cute damask print box filled with Jordan almonds or coconut truffles to take home.  STARRY NIGHT Make your New Year’s party stellar by decorating with stars. Ever dream of going to a star studded celebrity party? Throw an A-list party yourself! It's very easy to do and your New Year's Eve guests will be thrilled to be treated like the hottest celebs! Decorate in red, cream and gold tones. Roll out a red carpet for your guests to walk on and encourage them to wear their finest. Have someone snapping pics like a paparazzi. Offer a guest book at the door so everyone can sign their "autograph. FOR THE TABLE: Use a light cream colored table cloth and use beige, gold and red plates and cups. Use some water filled bowls with red cranberries and floating tea lights. Use gold glitter star cut outs for place cards. PAJAMA PARTY The New Year comes at midnight, right? Why not be dressed for the occasion, in your PJ's. FOR THE FLOOR: Instead of dressing the table, set the night on the floor with big fluffy pillows, soft blankets and sleeping bags FOR THE FOOD: serve big bowls of popcorn and potato chips and a wide assortment of chocolate candy and taffy FOR THE PARTY FAVORS: Hand out slippers as party favors for guests to wear instead of their shoes. Host a glowing black light party. Give everyone glow sticks and glow bracelets. Serve tonic water to drink. It glows under black lights. Make tonic water ice cubes. Use dry ice to make the drinks misty. Use petroleum jelly to write “Happy New Year!” on the walls and mirrors. It glows under a black light also. Clothes detergent with bleach also glows. Write with it. Set off a glow in the dark Mentos geyser at midnight to kick off the New Year. OUR FAVORITE GLOW IN THE DARK DRINK GREEN SCORPION Energy drinks that have vitamin B in them will glow a very bright yellow under bright lights. There is a way to make them glow green as well. By adding food coloring you can turn the green glowing drink into a cocktail by adding alcohol. Pick one that pairs the best with the brand of energy drink you serve. INGREDIENTS: energy drink with B vitamins (Rockstar, Red Bull, Monster, etc) Blue food coloring (rum, whiskey, Jagermeister, or vodka, optional for adult INSTRUCTIONS 1. Pour an energy drink into a glass. 2. If you are adding alcohol, add it into the glass. 3. Add several drops of blue food coloring. 4. Turn on the black light. 5. Mix the drink and watch as it changes from a bright yellow glow to a bright green. Serve and enjoy! Just don't drink it right before bedtime |
